Inaugural Gala: "An Evening of Hope" August 1, 2015
VHF Inaugural Fundraiser Committee raised over $11,000 for Projects in Ghana, Washington DC, Guyana and Nigeria. Victoria House Foundation (VHF) led by Macfarlane Okonta, raised over $11, 000 at its inaugural Fundraising gala, “An Evening of Hope” held on August 1st, 2015 at The Country Club at Woodmore in Mitchellville, Maryland.
The very well attended event included dinner, auction and raffle with top prizes donated by our generous sponsors and Partners. A special thank you to In-Kindness, Capital Technology Information Services (CTIS), Abiodun Adesanya D.D.S., P.C, Total Wine & More, AMC Theaters, H Street Candy Apples, Spy Museum, Adams Law Offices, Sweet Lobby and Wegmans. One lucky guest even won the grand prize of a 42 inch LED TV.
We also want to extend our gratitude to celebrity artist Demont “Peekaso” Pinder who created a masterpiece and donated it to VHF. The generosity of our guests was absolutely amazing. An “Evening of Hope” could not have been such a HUGE success without your support. Also the tireless hours of our hardworking volunteers was invaluable.
The 2nd Annual "Connect2Empower" All Black & white Affair, September 10, 2016
Our second annual “Connect2Empower” Fundraiser event, that took place this past September, was a huge success! Roughly $6000 was raised, to help further our mission. Our work is just getting started as we head to Jamaica, this October 18, 2016 to service the William Knibb Memorial High School, and Goodwill Primary & Infant School We are also going to be servicing the Kibera Calvary school in one the most troubled areas in Kenya in November. Once again, we are continuously grateful for all of the support and donations! Let's continue to work together and make the possibilities endless for the future of our kids!
